Store Dry Ice In Refrigerator

To quickly freeze fish meat or game place it on the bottom of the cooler with the dry ice on top. This is because the warmer temperature of the freezer will cause the dry ice to transform into a gas sublimate and the initial extremely cold temperature of the dry ice can cause the freezer thermostat to shut down and potentially break.
Ice can also sublimate evaporate and shrink fairly quickly. Do not store dry ice in a refrigerator or a freezer unless the dry ice is being used to maintain the proper holding temperature. Do not touch dry ice with bare hands. No dry ice must never be kept in a home refrigerator freezer.
The sublimation of dry ice into carbon dioxide gas will cause an airtight container to expand rupture or burst. Refrigerator not working for each 12 to 24 hour period place a ten pound slab of dry ice on bottom shelf of the refrigerator to cool. It is much colder than a home freezer and will cause the thermostat of the freezer to shut the freezer down or damage it. When taking out the frozen food carefully lift the dry ice slab up with gloves potholder towel etc without touching the dry ice directly. You need to obtain it or have it delivered close to the time it will be used.
